Introduction

Thank you for taking this online video workshop. This was a three day project, but I have cut out the time I was waiting for paint to dry. Be sure to let your paint dry in one area before beginning an adjacent area to avoid having unwanted blossoms. I generally begin by painting the shadows in a painting, and often the darkest areas as you will see in the basket of this painting.

Here are some things to print out. The palette with greyscale is used during class, so if you can, print it on a thicker paper, and trim along the value scale so that there is no white paper along that edge.

The Glazing Combinations page shows which colors I use as an underpainting. It should make more sense once you have seen the process during the workshop.

There is also a flier on the technique I use for getting outlines of a photo in Adobe Photoshop. I think this is also possible using Adobe Photoshop Elements.

Enjoy!
