Pink Hibiscus in Watercolor (7 hours of instruction)

Kathleen Alexander is a California native, and has recently returned after 12 wonderful years in Maui. She has been painting watercolors for over 40 years. Kathleen earned her bachelor’s degree in biochemistry, but later decided to pursue a career in art. She was awarded a one year scholarship to the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, and attended the AAU in 2000-2001. Kathleen had been participating in fine art festivals between 2005 and 2017, but since moving to Maui, focuses on creating works for the Village Galleries Maui and teaching beginning through advanced watercolor painting workshops. Her artwork has been accepted into national and international watercolor exhibitions across the United States. She has won many awards for her paintings, and received signature membership in both Northwest Watercolor Society and Watercolor West in 2009, and the National Watercolor Society in 2018. She was a featured artist in the April 2010, June 2014, and the cover artist in the Spring 2021 edition of Watercolor Artist magazine. Kathleen’s work is also included in 7 issues of “Splash”, a watercolor compilation book by Northlight Books, and in the magazine, “The Best of Watercolor” by the Artists Magazine, 2020. Kathleen was invited to be on the faculty of Watercolor Live, 2022, and serves on the board of the National Watercolor Society as the Awards Director.
